Xiaolongbao
Xiaolongbao, also known as soup dumplings, are a delicious, traditional Chinese steamed bun filled with a rich, savory broth and tender meat.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Cabbage leaves - for steaming
- Dumpling wrappers - 50 pieces
- Ginger - 1 piece, minced
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Chicken stock - 1 cup
- Gelatin - 10 grams
- Pork belly - 200 grams
Let's Get Started
- Cut the pork belly into small pieces and mix with soy sauce, sugar, and minced ginger.
- Dissolve the gelatin in the chicken stock and refrigerate until it forms a jelly.
- Mix the jelly with the pork belly mixture.
- Place a spoonful of the mixture in the center of each dumpling wrapper.
- Fold the dumpling wrapper over the filling and pleat the edges to seal.
- Place the dumplings on cabbage leaves in a steamer.
- Steam the dumplings over high heat for about 10 minutes.
- Serve hot with vinegar and ginger slices.
