Pan Fried Jiaozi
Delicious pan-fried jiaozi filled with pork and cabbage. Crispy on the bottom, steamed on the top, these dumplings make a perfect meal or appetizer.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Water - 1/2 cup
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Dumpling wrappers - 1 package
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Green onions - 2, finely chopped
- Cabbage - 1 cup, finely chopped
- Ground pork - 1/2 pound
Let's Get Started
- In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, cabbage, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, and ginger. Mix well.
- Place a spoonful of the pork mixture in the center of a dumpling wrapper. Fold the wrapper over the filling and pinch the edges to seal.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the dumplings in a single layer and cook until the bottoms are golden, about 2 minutes.
- Add the water to the skillet, cover, and steam the dumplings until the water has evaporated and the dumplings are cooked through, about 10 minutes.
- Serve the dumplings hot with soy sauce for dipping.
