Dim Sum
A delightful assortment of traditional Chinese dim sum dishes, including dumplings, buns, and rolls.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Cilantro - 1/2 cup, chopped
- Vermicelli noodles - 1 cup, cooked
- Shrimp - 1 cup, cooked and chopped
- Rice paper wrappers - 10
- For the rolls: -
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Ground pork - 1 cup
- Flour - 2 cups
- Sugar - 1/4 cup
- Yeast - 1 packet
- For the buns: -
- Dumpling wrappers - 20
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Shrimp - 1/2 cup, chopped
- Ground pork - 1 cup
- For the dumplings: -
Let's Get Started
- For the dumplings: In a bowl, combine the ground pork, shrimp, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Place a spoonful of the mixture in the center of each dumpling wrapper and fold to seal.
- Steam the dumplings for 15 minutes, or until the pork is cooked through.
- For the buns: In a bowl, combine the yeast, sugar, and flour. Add warm water and knead until a dough forms. Let rise for 1 hour.
- Divide the dough into small balls and flatten each one. Place a spoonful of the ground pork in the center and fold the dough over to seal.
- Steam the buns for 15 minutes, or until the pork is cooked through.
- For the rolls: Soak the rice paper wrappers in warm water until soft. Place a small amount of shrimp, noodles, and cilantro in the center of each wrapper and roll to seal.
- Serve the dim sum with soy sauce for dipping.
