Walnut Sauce
This creamy and flavorful walnut sauce is a traditional Italian recipe, perfect for pasta dishes.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Pasta - 12 ounces
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Fresh parsley - 1/4 cup, chopped
- Extra virgin olive oil - 1/4 cup
- Parmesan cheese - 1/2 cup, grated
- Garlic - 2 cloves
- Walnuts - 1 cup
Let's Get Started
- In a food processor, blend the walnuts, garlic, Parmesan cheese, olive oil, parsley, salt, and black pepper until smooth and creamy.
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
- Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta cooking water, then drain the pasta.
- In a large skillet, heat the walnut sauce over medium heat.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat the pasta with the sauce.
- If needed, add some of the reserved pasta cooking water to thin out the sauce.
- Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the pasta is heated through.
- Serve the walnut sauce pasta hot, garnished with extra Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley.
