A hearty and flavorful vegetarian burger made with black beans and spices.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Lettuce, tomato, and other desired toppings - As needed
- Burger buns - 4
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Egg - 1
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Onion - 1/2, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Bread crumbs - 1/2 cup
- Black beans - 1 can, drained and rinsed
Let's Get Started
- In a bowl, mash the black beans with a fork until mostly smooth.
- Add the bread crumbs, garlic, onion, cumin, chili powder, salt, pepper, and egg. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into 4 patties.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Cook the patties for about 5 minutes on each side, or until heated through and slightly crispy.
- Serve the burgers on the buns with lettuce, tomato, and any other desired toppings.
