Veal Parmigiana
Veal Parmigiana is a delicious Italian dish made with breaded veal cutlets, tomato sauce, and melted cheese.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Basil leaves - A handful, for garnish
- Parmesan cheese - 1/2 cup, grated
- Mozzarella cheese - 1 cup, shredded
- Tomato sauce - 2 cups
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Breadcrumbs - 1 cup
- Eggs - 2, beaten
- Flour - 1/2 cup
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Veal cutlets - 4
Let's Get Started
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Season the veal cutlets with salt and pepper, then dredge them in flour, dip in the beaten eggs, and coat with breadcrumbs.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the veal cutlets and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 3 minutes per side.
- Spread a thin layer of tomato sauce in the bottom of a baking dish. Place the veal cutlets on top of the sauce.
- Top each cutlet with more tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, and Parmesan cheese.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
