Turkish Apple Tea
A refreshing, sweet and tangy tea that's a traditional drink in Turkey. It's a perfect beverage to enjoy at any time of the day.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Cloves - 4
- Cinnamon stick - 1
- Sugar - 4 tablespoons
- Water - 4 cups
- Apple - 4, medium-sized, peeled and diced
Let's Get Started
- Place the diced apples, water, sugar, cinnamon stick, and cloves in a large pot.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until the apples are soft.
- Remove the pot from the heat and use a potato masher or a fork to mash the apples until they are pulpy.
- Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a large jug, pressing down on the apples to extract as much juice as possible.
- Stir in the lemon juice, then let the tea cool to room temperature.
- Serve the tea over ice, or reheat it and serve it warm.
