Ingredients - Serves 8

Let's Get Started

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Unroll the kadaifi dough and cut into strips. Toss with the melted butter until well coated.
  3. Spread half of the dough in the bottom of a baking dish. Press down firmly.
  4. Combine the chopped walnuts, cinnamon, and cloves. Sprinkle over the dough in the baking dish.
  5. Cover the nuts with the remaining dough, pressing down firmly.
  6. Bake for 45 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. While the kadaifi is baking, make the syrup. Combine the sugar and water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Add the lemon juice.
  8. Pour the hot syrup over the hot kadaifi as soon as it comes out of the oven. Let it sit for at least 4 hours, or overnight, before serving.
