Ingredients - Serves 8

Let's Get Started

  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground pork and beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until the onion is translucent.
  3. Stir in the diced potato, chicken broth, thyme, cinnamon, cloves, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes, or until the potato is tender.
  4. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  5. Line a pie dish with one of the pie crusts.
  6. Pour the meat mixture into the pie crust.
  7. Cover the filling with the second pie crust and seal the edges. Cut a few slits on the top crust to allow steam to escape.
  8. Brush the top crust with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
  10. Allow the tourtière to cool for a few minutes before serving.
  11. Serve warm and enjoy!
