  1. Season the pork cutlets with salt and black pepper on both sides.
  2. Dredge the cutlets in flour, shaking off any excess.
  3. Dip the cutlets into the beaten egg, allowing any excess to drip off.
  4. Coat the cutlets with panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  6. Fry the cutlets until golden brown and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  7. Transfer the cutlets to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  8. Spread tonkatsu sauce on two slices of bread.
  9. Place a fried pork cutlet on each sauced bread slice.
  10. Top with shredded cabbage.
  11. Cover with the remaining two slices of bread.
  12. Cut the sandwiches in half and serve.
