Ingredients - Serves 2
- Cabbage - 1 cup, shredded
- White bread slices - 4
- Tonkatsu sauce - 4 tablespoons
- Vegetable oil - For frying
- Panko breadcrumbs - 1 cup
- Egg - 1, beaten
- All-purpose flour - 1/2 cup
- Black pepper - To taste
- Salt - To taste
- Pork loin cutlets - 2 pieces
Let's Get Started
- Season the pork cutlets with salt and black pepper on both sides.
- Dredge the cutlets in flour, shaking off any excess.
- Dip the cutlets into the beaten egg, allowing any excess to drip off.
- Coat the cutlets with panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Fry the cutlets until golden brown and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Transfer the cutlets to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Spread tonkatsu sauce on two slices of bread.
- Place a fried pork cutlet on each sauced bread slice.
- Top with shredded cabbage.
- Cover with the remaining two slices of bread.
- Cut the sandwiches in half and serve.
