Tirk Phtoong
Tirk Phtoong is a traditional Cambodian stir-fried beef dish with vegetables.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Fish sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Oyster sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
- Broccoli - 1 cup, florets
- Carrot - 1, julienned
- Bell pepper - 1, sliced
- Onion - 1 large, sliced
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Beef - 500 grams, thinly sliced
Let's Get Started
- In a bowl, marinate the beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, sugar, and black pepper for 10 minutes.
- Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat.
- Add minced garlic and stir-fry for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned.
- Add sliced onion, bell pepper, carrot, and broccoli. Stir-fry for another 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
- Adjust the seasoning with soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, sugar, and black pepper according to taste.
- Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles.
