Thai Basil Chicken Rice Bowl
A flavorful dish of stir-fried chicken with Thai basil and chilies, served over jasmine rice.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Jasmine rice - 2 cups
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Oyster sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Thai chilies - 2, finely chopped
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Thai basil leaves - 1 cup
- Chicken breast - 2, thinly sliced
Let's Get Started
- Cook the jasmine rice according to the package instructions.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a wok or large frying pan over medium-high heat.
- Add the garlic and chilies and stir-fry for 30 seconds, until fragrant.
- Add the chicken and stir-fry for 5-7 minutes, until cooked through.
- Add the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sugar, and stir-fry for another 2 minutes.
- Stir in the Thai basil leaves and cook for another minute, until the basil is wilted.
- Serve the chicken over the cooked jasmine rice.
