Thai Massaman Curry

Let's Get Started

  1. Heat a large pot over medium heat and add the massaman curry paste. Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  2. Add the beef slices and cook until browned on all sides.
  3. Add the potatoes, coconut milk, fish sauce, palm sugar, tamarind paste, cinnamon stick, cardamom pods, bay leaves, and lime leaves. Stir well to combine.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes, or until the beef is tender and the potatoes are cooked through.
  5. Remove the cinnamon stick, cardamom pods, bay leaves, and lime leaves from the curry.
  6. Serve the Massaman curry over steamed rice, garnished with crushed roasted peanuts and fresh cilantro.
