Tep Kho Ta
Tep Kho Ta is a traditional Vietnamese dish made with dried anchovies, garlic, and spices.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Chili flakes - 1/2 teaspoon (optional)
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Fish sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Dried anchovies - 200g
Let's Get Started
- Rinse the dried anchovies under cold water to remove any impurities.
- In a bowl, combine minced garlic, fish sauce, sugar, black pepper, and chili flakes (if using). Mix well.
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add the dried anchovies to the pan and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until they turn golden brown and crispy.
- Reduce the heat to low and add the garlic mixture to the pan. Stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until the anchovies are well coated with the sauce.
- Remove from heat and let it cool before serving.
- Serve tep kho ta as a crunchy and flavorful appetizer.
