Let's Get Started

  1. Marinate the beef or pork in the dark soy sauce for 15 minutes.
  2. In a large pot, sauté the garlic until fragrant.
  3. Add the marinated beef or pork to the pot and cook until browned.
  4. Add the cinnamon stick, star anise, stock, sugar, and fish sauce to the pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
  5. In a separate pot, cook the rice noodles according to the package instructions.
  6. To serve, place a portion of noodles in a bowl. Top with the soup, bean sprouts, green onions, cilantro, fried garlic, and chili flakes.
