Tau Hu Hap
Tau Hu Hap is a steamed tofu dish with a savory sauce.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- White pepper - To taste
- Salt - To taste
- Water - 1/4 cup
- Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Oyster sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Green onions - 2, chopped
- Carrots - 1, julienned
- Shiitake mushrooms - 6-8, sliced
- Firm tofu - 1 block
Let's Get Started
- Cut the tofu into rectangular pieces and place them on a steaming plate.
- Top the tofu with sliced shiitake mushrooms, julienned carrots, and chopped green onions.
- In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, water, salt, and white pepper to make the sauce.
- Pour the sauce over the tofu and vegetables.
- Steam the tofu dish for about 15-20 minutes, or until the tofu is heated through and the vegetables are tender.
- Serve hot with steamed rice.
