Tarte Fine aux Champignons
This delicious French mushroom tart is made with a thin and crispy pastry crust, topped with sautéed mushrooms and herbs.
Ingredients - Serves 6
- Fresh parsley - 1 tablespoon, chopped
- Parmesan cheese - 1/4 cup, grated
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Thyme - 1 teaspoon, chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Butter - 2 tablespoons
- Mushrooms - 500g, sliced
- Puff pastry - 1 sheet, thawed
Let's Get Started
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface to form a rectangle.
- Transfer the pastry to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute.
- Add the sliced mushrooms, thyme, salt, and pepper. Cook until the mushrooms are tender and any liquid has evaporated, about 5-7 minutes.
- Spread the sautéed mushrooms evenly over the puff pastry, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the mushrooms.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley.
- Allow to cool slightly before slicing and serving.
