Taro Ball Dessert

Ingredients - Serves 4

Let's Get Started

  1. Steam the taro and sweet potato until soft, about 15 minutes.
  2. Mash the taro and sweet potato separately, then mix each with 1 cup of the glutinous rice flour and 1/2 cup of water to form a dough.
  3. Roll the dough into small balls and set aside.
  4. Bring a large pot of water to a boil, then add the taro and sweet potato balls. Cook until they float to the surface, then continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  5. In a separate pot, dissolve the brown sugar in 2 cups of water to create a syrup.
  6. Drain the cooked taro and sweet potato balls and add them to the syrup.
  7. Serve the taro ball dessert hot or cold.
