  1. In a large pot, combine the soy sauce, water, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  2. Add the short ribs to the pot and turn to coat in the sauce.
  3. Cover the pot and reduce the heat to low. Simmer for about 3 hours, or until the ribs are tender.
  4. Remove the ribs from the pot and set aside.
