Ingredients - Serves 4
- Fresh coriander leaves - For garnish
- Lemon wedges - For serving
- Onion - 1, sliced (for serving)
- Skewers - 4
- Oil - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - To taste
- Kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves) - 1 tablespoon
- Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Red chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
- Fresh cream - 2 tablespoons
- Hung curd (greek yogurt) - 1/2 cup
- Chicken breast - 500 grams, boneless and skinless
Let's Get Started
- In a bowl, combine hung curd, fresh cream, ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala, kasuri methi, and salt. Mix well to make a smooth marinade.
- Cut the chicken breast into bite-sized pieces and add them to the marinade. Coat the chicken pieces well with the marinade. Cover the bowl and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). If using skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning.
- Thread the marinated chicken pieces onto skewers, leaving a little space between each piece.
- Brush a baking sheet with oil and place the skewers on it. Alternatively, you can cook the kebabs on a preheated grill or in a tandoor.
- Bake the kebabs in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and slightly charred.
- Remove the kebabs from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes.
- Serve the Tandoori Malai Kebabs hot, garnished with fresh coriander leaves. Accompany with sliced onions and lemon wedges on the side.
