Taiwanese Spring Rolls
Crispy and delicious, these Taiwanese spring rolls are filled with a mix of vegetables and meat. They're perfect as an appetizer or a snack.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Vegetable oil - For frying
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Sliced mushrooms - 1/2 cup
- Shredded carrots - 1/2 cup
- Shredded cabbage - 1 cup
- Ground pork - 1/2 cup
- Spring roll wrappers - 12
Let's Get Started
- In a large pan, cook the ground pork over medium heat until no longer pink.
- Add the cabbage, carrots, and mushrooms to the pan and cook until the vegetables are tender.
- Stir in the soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper.
- Place a spoonful of the pork and vegetable mixture onto each spring roll wrapper. Fold the sides over the filling, then roll up the wrapper tightly.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F.
- Fry the spring rolls in batches until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
- Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
