Dakgangjeong
Dakgangjeong is a popular Korean dish made with crispy fried chicken bites coated in a sweet and spicy sauce.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
- Red pepper flakes - 1/2 teaspoon
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Honey - 1/4 cup
- Soy sauce - 1/4 cup
- Vegetable oil - For frying
- Cornstarch - 1/2 cup
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Chicken thighs - 1 pound, boneless and skinless
Let's Get Started
- Season the chicken thighs with salt and pepper, then coat them in cornstarch.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F.
- Fry the chicken thighs until they are golden brown and crispy, about 10 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
- In a small saucepan, combine the soy sauce, honey, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
- Cook the sauce until it thickens, about 5 minutes.
- Toss the fried chicken in the sauce until it is well coated.
- Sprinkle the chicken with sesame seeds before serving.
