Mandu
Mandu are Korean dumplings stuffed with a mixture of various ingredients. They are a traditional part of Korean cuisine and can be steamed, boiled, pan-fried, or deep-fried.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Vegetable oil - For frying
- Dumpling wrappers - 1 package
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Green onions - 2, finely chopped
- Kimchi - 1/2 cup, finely chopped
- Tofu - 1/2 cup, crumbled
- Ground pork - 1/2 pound
Let's Get Started
- In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, crumbled tofu, chopped kimchi, green onions, minced garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper.
- Place a spoonful of the filling in the center of a dumpling wrapper. Wet the edges of the wrapper with water, fold in half, and press to seal.
- Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the dumplings and cook until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Serve the mandu hot with soy sauce for dipping.
