Taiwanese Spring Roll
A delicious and crispy appetizer, Taiwanese Spring Rolls are filled with a mix of savory ingredients and deep-fried to golden perfection.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Vegetable oil - For frying
- Water - 2 tablespoons
- Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Sliced mushrooms - 1/2 cup
- Shredded carrots - 1/2 cup
- Shredded cabbage - 1 cup
- Ground pork - 1/2 pound
- Spring roll wrappers - 12 pieces
Let's Get Started
- In a large pan, cook the ground pork until no longer pink. Add the cabbage, carrots, and mushrooms and cook until vegetables are tender.
- In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, and water. Pour this sauce over the cooked pork and vegetables, stirring well to coat.
- Place a spoonful of the pork and vegetable mixture onto each spring roll wrapper. Fold in the sides and roll up tightly, sealing the edge with a little water.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F. Fry the spring rolls in batches until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
- Drain on paper towels and serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
