Poutine with Italian Beef Gravy

Ingredients - Serves 4

Let's Get Started

  1. Season the beef roast with the Italian seasoning, garlic, salt, and pepper, then place in a slow cooker with the beef broth. Cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours.
  2. Once the beef is cooked, remove it from the slow cooker and shred it. Set aside.
  3. Strain the broth from the slow cooker into a saucepan. Bring to a simmer.
  4. Mix the cornstarch and water together to make a slurry, then whisk it into the simmering broth. Continue to simmer until the gravy has thickened.
  5. Fry the potatoes in the vegetable oil until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels and season with salt.
  6. To assemble the poutine, place a layer of fries in a dish, top with cheese curds and shredded beef, then pour over the gravy. Repeat with another layer of fries, cheese curds, beef, and gravy. Serve hot.
