Tacos de Carnitas
These delicious Tacos de Carnitas are made with tender, slow-cooked pork, topped with fresh toppings and served in warm tortillas.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Lime wedges - For serving
- Salsa - 1/2 cup
- Onion - 1/2 cup, diced
- Cilantro - 1/2 cup, chopped
- Corn tortillas - 12
- Pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Oregano - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Lime - 2, juiced
- Orange - 1, juiced
- Pork shoulder - 2 pounds
Let's Get Started
- In a slow cooker, combine the pork shoulder, orange juice, lime juice, minced garlic, cumin, oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Cover and cook on low heat for 8 hours, or until the pork is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
- Once the pork is cooked, remove it from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and warm the corn tortillas for about 30 seconds on each side.
- To assemble the tacos, place a spoonful of the shredded pork onto each tortilla.
