Seafood Pho
A Vietnamese noodle soup with a seafood twist. This recipe features a flavorful broth, rice noodles, and a variety of seafood.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Lime wedges - For serving
- Fresh herbs (cilantro, mint, basil) - For garnish
- Salt - To taste
- Sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Fish sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Cinnamon stick - 1
- Star anise - 2
- Ginger - 1 inch piece, sliced
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Onion - 1, sliced
- Mixed seafood - 500 grams
- Pho noodles - 200 grams
Let's Get Started
- Soak the pho noodles in warm water for 30 minutes, then drain and set aside.
- In a large pot, sauté the onion, garlic, and ginger until fragrant.
- Add the star anise, cinnamon stick, fish sauce, sugar, and salt. Pour in 1.5 liters of water and bring to a boil.
- Reduce the heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
- Strain the broth and return it to the pot. Add the seafood and cook until done.
- Divide the noodles among four bowls. Ladle the broth and seafood over the noodles.
- Garnish with fresh herbs and serve with lime wedges on the side.
