Sweet and Spicy Pickles
These homemade sweet and spicy pickles are perfect for snacking, sandwiches, or serving alongside a charcuterie board.
Ingredients - Serves 8
- Dill - 1 tablespoon, fresh
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Red pepper flakes - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 tablespoon
- Water - 1 cup
- Sugar - 1 cup
- White vinegar - 2 cups
- Cucumbers - 4 medium, sliced
Let's Get Started
- In a large pot, combine the vinegar, sugar, water, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved.
- Add the cucumber slices, red pepper flakes, garlic, and dill to the pot. Stir to combine.
- Remove the pot from the heat and let the pickles cool to room temperature.
- Once cooled, transfer the pickles and their brine to airtight containers. Refrigerate for at least 24 hours before serving to allow the flavors to develop.
- Serve the pickles cold. They can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
