Let's Get Started

  1. Place the beef bones and brisket in a large pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 6 hours, skimming off any impurities that rise to the surface.
  2. After 6 hours, remove the bones and brisket from the pot. Discard any fat or gristle from the brisket and slice it thinly.
  3. Return the sliced brisket to the pot and add the minced garlic, sliced ginger, salt, and pepper. Simmer for another 2 hours.
  4. Remove the ginger slices from the pot and discard.
  5. To serve, ladle the soup into bowls and top with chopped green onions. Drizzle with sesame oil.
  6. Serve with cooked rice on the side.
