Sukla Phan
Sukla Phan is a traditional Filipino dessert made with sticky rice, coconut milk, and chocolate.
Ingredients - Serves 6
- Grated coconut - 1/2 cup
- Water - 1 cup
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
- Dark chocolate - 200 grams, chopped
- Sugar - 1 cup
- Coconut milk - 2 cups
- Glutinous rice - 2 cups
Let's Get Started
- Rinse the glutinous rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Drain well.
- In a large pot, combine the glutinous rice, coconut milk, sugar, vanilla extract, salt, and water. Stir well.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.
- Remove the pot from the heat and let it sit, covered, for 10 minutes.
- Meanwhile, melt the dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl over a pot of simmering water, stirring until smooth.
- Fluff the cooked rice with a fork, then transfer it to a serving dish.
- Drizzle the melted chocolate over the rice and sprinkle with grated coconut.
- Serve warm or chilled. Enjoy!
