Stuffed Lotus Root
This is a traditional Chinese dish where the lotus root is stuffed with a flavorful meat mixture, then steamed to perfection.

- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
- Oyster sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Scallions - 2, finely chopped
- Shrimp - 1/4 pound, finely chopped
- Ground pork - 1/2 pound
- Lotus root - 1 large
Let's Get Started
- Peel the lotus root and cut into 1/2 inch thick slices.
- Mix the ground pork, chopped shrimp, scallions, soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Stuff each lotus root slice with the meat mixture.
- Place the stuffed lotus root slices in a steamer and steam for about 1 hour, or until the lotus root is tender and the meat is cooked through.
