Ingredients - Serves 6
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Lemon juice - 2 tablespoons
- Brown sugar - 2 tablespoons
- Tomato sauce - 2 cups
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Egg - 1
- Cooked rice - 1 cup
- Onion - 1, finely chopped
- Ground beef - 1 pound
- Cabbage - 1 large head
Let's Get Started
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the cabbage and cook for 2-3 minutes, until the leaves are soft and pliable. Drain and set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, onion, rice, egg, salt, and pepper.
- Carefully remove the leaves from the cabbage. Place a spoonful of the beef mixture in the center of each leaf, then roll up the leaf, tucking in the sides as you go.
- Place the cabbage rolls seam-side down in a baking dish.
- In a small bowl, combine the tomato sauce, brown sugar, lemon juice, and Worcestershire sauce. Pour over the cabbage rolls.
- Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 1 hour, until the cabbage rolls are tender and the beef is cooked through.
