Ginger Beer Braised Beef Ribs
These beef ribs are slow-cooked in a rich, tangy ginger beer sauce until they're fall-off-the-bone tender. The perfect comfort food for a cozy night in.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
- Brown sugar - 2 tablespoons
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Beef broth - 2 cups
- Ginger beer - 12 ounces
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Onion - 1 large, chopped
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Beef ribs - 2 pounds
Let's Get Started
- Season the beef ribs with salt and pepper.
- Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add the ribs and brown on all sides, about 5 minutes. Remove from the pot and set aside.
- In the same pot, add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Pour in the ginger beer, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar. Stir to combine.
- Return the ribs to the pot. Cover and simmer for 2-3 hours, or until the meat is tender and falls off the bone.
- Remove the ribs from the pot. Mix the cornstarch with a little water to make a slurry, then stir into the pot to thicken the sauce.
- Serve the ribs with the sauce poured over the top.
