Steamed Shrimp Dumplings
These steamed shrimp dumplings are a delicious and healthy appetizer made with fresh shrimp and flavorful seasonings.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Wonton wrappers - 24
- Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Green onions - 2, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
- Shrimp - 1 pound, peeled and deveined
Let's Get Started
- In a food processor, combine the shrimp, ginger, garlic, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, and cornstarch. Pulse until well combined and the mixture becomes a paste.
- Place a spoonful of the shrimp mixture in the center of each wonton wrapper. Wet the edges of the wrapper with water and fold it in half to form a triangle. Press the edges to seal.
- Arrange the dumplings in a steamer basket lined with parchment paper.
- Bring water to a boil in a pot or wok. Place the steamer basket on top and cover with a lid. Steam the dumplings for 10-12 minutes, or until the shrimp is cooked through and the wrappers are translucent.
- Serve the steamed shrimp dumplings hot with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
