Deep Fried Wontons
Crispy, golden deep-fried wontons filled with a succulent pork and shrimp mixture. Perfect as an appetizer or a side dish.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Vegetable oil - 2 cups, for frying
- Egg - 1, beaten
- Wonton wrappers - 24 pieces
- Green onions - 2, finely chopped
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Shrimp - 1/2 cup, finely chopped
- Ground pork - 1/2 cup
Let's Get Started
- In a bowl, combine the ground pork, shrimp, soy sauce, sesame oil, and green onions.
- Place a small amount of the pork and shrimp mixture in the center of each wonton wrapper.
- Brush the edges of the wonton wrapper with the beaten egg, then fold the wrapper over the filling to form a triangle. Press the edges to seal.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F.
- Fry the wontons in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
- Serve the deep-fried wontons hot with soy sauce or sweet and sour sauce for dipping.
