Spicy Gongura Chicken
Spicy Gongura Chicken is a popular Andhra dish made with chicken and Gongura leaves which are sour in taste. It's a unique dish with a fusion of spicy and sour flavors.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - To taste
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Red chilli powder - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Ginger garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
- Green chillies - 3, slit
- Onions - 2, finely chopped
- Gongura leaves - 2 cups
- Chicken - 500 grams
Let's Get Started
- Clean the chicken and marinate with turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, salt and ginger garlic paste for 20 minutes.
- Heat oil in a pan, add the chopped onions and green chillies. Saute until onions turn golden brown.
- Add the marinated chicken to the pan and cook on medium flame until the chicken is fully cooked.
- In another pan, add the gongura leaves without any water and cook until the leaves wilt completely. Let it cool.
- Blend the cooked gongura leaves into a coarse paste.
- Add this gongura paste to the cooked chicken and mix well. Cook for another 10 minutes on low flame.
- Spicy Gongura Chicken is ready to serve. Serve hot with rice or roti.
