Kashmiri Rajma

Ingredients - Serves 4

Let's Get Started

  1. Soak the rajma overnight in water.
  2. Drain the water and rinse the rajma. Add 3 cups of water and pressure cook for 5-6 whistles.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they start to splutter, add onions and sauté until golden brown.
  4. Add the ginger, garlic, and green chillies. Sauté for a few minutes until the raw smell goes away.
  5. Add the tomatoes and cook until they are soft and mushy.
  6. Add the coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, and salt. Mix well.
  7. Add the cooked rajma along with the water it was cooked in. Mix well and bring to a boil.
  8. Reduce the heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
  9. Add the garam masala and mix well. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  10. Serve hot with rice or roti.
