Sopa de Cação
Sopa de Cação is a traditional Portuguese dish, a delicious dogfish soup with a rich garlic and coriander flavor.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Lemon juice - 2 tablespoons
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Bread - 4 slices
- White wine - 1 cup
- Coriander - 1 bunch, chopped
- Onion - 1 large, chopped
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Dogfish - 500 grams
Let's Get Started
- In a pot, heat the olive oil and sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until golden.
- Add the dogfish, season with salt and pepper, and let it cook for about 10 minutes.
- Add the white wine and half of the chopped coriander, cover the pot and let it simmer for about 20 minutes.
- Remove the dogfish pieces from the pot and set aside. Blend the remaining soup until smooth.
- Place the slices of bread at the bottom of the serving dishes. Pour the soup over the bread and place the dogfish pieces on top.
- Sprinkle with lemon juice and the remaining chopped coriander before serving.
