Golden Gate Gyros
A delicious and hearty gyro recipe inspired by the flavors of San Francisco's Golden Gate.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Feta cheese - 1/2 cup, crumbled
- Red onion - 1, thinly sliced
- Cucumber - 1, sliced
- Tomato - 1, sliced
- Tzatziki sauce - 1 cup
- Pita bread - 4 pieces
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Lamb - 1 pound, thinly sliced
Let's Get Started
- In a bowl, combine the lamb, garlic, olive oil, and lemon juice. Marinate for at least 1 hour.
- Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Add the lamb and cook until browned and crispy, about 5 minutes per side.
- Warm the pita bread on the grill or in the oven.
