Sngor Chruok Tirk Doung is a traditional Cambodian stir-fried lemongrass chicken dish.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Fresh basil leaves - 1/2 cup
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Oyster sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Fish sauce - 3 tablespoons
- Red chili - 2, thinly sliced
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Lemongrass - 3 stalks, finely chopped
- Chicken breast - 500g, thinly sliced
Let's Get Started
- In a bowl, marinate the chicken with fish sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, minced garlic, and chopped lemongrass. Let it sit for 10 minutes.
- Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat.
- Add the marinated chicken and stir-fry for 5-6 minutes, or until cooked through.
- Add the sliced red chili and stir-fry for another minute.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Remove from heat and garnish with fresh basil leaves.
- Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles.
