Smothered Pork Chops

Ingredients - Serves 4

Let's Get Started

  1. Season the pork chops with salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
  2. In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of butter over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the pork chops and cook for 4-5 minutes per side, or until browned. Remove the pork chops from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of butter.
  5. Add the sliced onions and mushrooms. Cook until the onions are caramelized and the mushrooms are golden brown.
  6. Sprinkle the flour over the onions and mushrooms. Stir well to coat.
  7. Slowly pour in the beef broth, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
  8. Add the Worcestershire sauce and fresh thyme. Stir to combine.
  9. Return the pork chops to the skillet, nestling them into the gravy.
  10. Reduce the heat to low, cover the skillet, and simmer for 30 minutes, or until the pork chops are cooked through and tender.
  11. Serve the smothered pork chops with the onion and mushroom gravy on top.
