Skillet Steak with Mushrooms
A savory, restaurant-quality steak dish that can be made right at home. The steak is perfectly seared and covered with a creamy mushroom sauce.
Ingredients - Serves 2
- Fresh parsley - For garnish
- Heavy cream - 1/2 cup
- Mushrooms - 1 cup, sliced
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Butter - 2 tablespoons
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Ribeye steak - 2 (1-inch thick)
Let's Get Started
- Season the steaks with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the steaks to the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the butter and garlic. Cook until the garlic is fragrant.
- Add the mushrooms to the skillet and cook until they are browned and tender.
- Pour in the heavy cream and stir to combine. Allow the sauce to simmer for a few minutes until it thickens.
- Return the steaks to the skillet and spoon the mushroom sauce over the top.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
