Sichuan Boiled Beef
A spicy and flavorful Chinese dish made with tender beef, chili oil, and Sichuan peppercorns.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Salt - To taste
- Green onions - 2, chopped
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Chinese cooking wine - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Ginger - 1 piece, sliced
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Dried chili peppers - 10
- Sichuan peppercorns - 1 tablespoon
- Beef - 500 grams, thinly sliced
Let's Get Started
- Heat the vegetable oil in a wok over medium heat.
- Add the Sichuan peppercorns and dried chili peppers and stir-fry until fragrant.
- Add the garlic and ginger and stir-fry for another minute.
- Add the beef and stir-fry until it changes color.
- Add the soy sauce, Chinese cooking wine, and salt. Stir well to combine.
- Cover the wok and simmer for 15 minutes, or until the beef is tender.
- Garnish with the chopped green onions before serving.
