Yangnyeom Chicken
Yangnyeom Chicken is a popular Korean dish, which is seasoned with a sweet and spicy sauce.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Sesame seeds - For garnish
- Honey - 1 tablespoon
- Sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Korean red pepper flakes (gochugaru) - 1 tablespoon
- Korean red pepper paste (gochujang) - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Cooking oil - For frying
- Cornstarch - 1/2 cup
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Chicken wings - 1 kg
Let's Get Started
- Season the chicken wings with salt and pepper, then coat with cornstarch.
- Heat the cooking oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the chicken wings until golden brown, about 10 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
- In a separate pan, sauté the garlic until fragrant.
- Add the gochujang, gochugaru, soy sauce, sugar, and honey to the pan. Stir until well combined.
- Add the fried chicken wings to the pan and toss until coated with the sauce.
- Garnish with sesame seeds before serving.
