Shogayaki
Shogayaki is a popular Japanese dish made with thinly sliced pork marinated in a ginger soy sauce.
Ingredients - Serves 2
- Steamed rice - 2 cups
- Green onions - 2, thinly sliced
- Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Mirin - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
- Pork loin - 300 grams, thinly sliced
Let's Get Started
- In a bowl, combine the grated ginger, soy sauce, mirin, and sugar to make the marinade.
- Add the thinly sliced pork to the marinade and let it marinate for at least 10 minutes.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the marinated pork slices to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, until browned and cooked through.
- Add the sliced green onions to the skillet and cook for an additional minute.
- Serve the shogayaki over steamed rice and garnish with additional green onions, if desired.
