Let's Get Started

  1. Clean the pork leg and place it in a large pot.
  2. Add enough water to the pot to cover the pork leg.
  3. Add the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, garlic, star anise, cinnamon stick, peppercorns, and coriander roots to the pot.
  4. Bring the pot to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 3 hours, or until the pork leg is tender.
  5. Add the hard-boiled eggs to the pot during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
  6. Serve the pork leg stew with steamed rice and pickled mustard greens.
