Sharbat E Zaafraan
Sharbat-e Zaafraan, also known as Saffron Sherbet, is a refreshing Persian drink. This sweet and floral beverage is perfect for summer and special occasions.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Lemon juice - 2 tablespoons
- Rose water - 1 tablespoon
- Water - 4 cups
- Sugar - 1 cup
- Saffron - 1/2 teaspoon
Let's Get Started
- Grind the saffron threads in a mortar and pestle until powdered.
- In a saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Bring to a boil, stirring until the sugar is dissolved.
- Reduce the heat to low and add the saffron. Let it simmer for 10 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let it cool.
- Once cooled, add the rose water and lemon juice. Stir well.
- Pour the mixture into a jug and refrigerate until chilled.
- Serve the Sharbat-e Zaafraan over ice and enjoy.
