Sharbat E Kamardeh
Sharbat-e Kamardeh is a traditional Iranian drink made from dried figs. It's sweet, refreshing, and perfect for hot summer days.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Lemon juice - 2 tablespoons
- Rose water - 1 tablespoon
- Sugar - 1/2 cup
- Water - 4 cups
- Dried figs - 1 cup
Let's Get Started
- Place the dried figs in a large bowl and cover with water. Let them soak for at least 2 hours, or overnight.
- Drain the figs and place them in a blender. Add 2 cups of water and blend until smooth.
- Pour the fig mixture into a large pot. Add the sugar and remaining 2 cups of water.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about an hour, or until it has a syrupy consistency.
- Remove the pot from the heat and let it cool. Stir in the rose water and lemon juice.
- Pour the sharbat into a pitcher and refrigerate until chilled. Serve over ice.
