Sharbat E Baadaam
Sharbat-e Baadaam is a traditional Indian almond milk beverage. It's a refreshing and nutritious drink, often enjoyed during the summer months.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Saffron strands - A few for garnish
- Rose water - 1 tablespoon
- Cardamom powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Sugar - 1/2 cup
- Milk - 4 cups
- Almonds - 1 cup, soaked overnight
Let's Get Started
- Drain the soaked almonds and peel off the skin. Blend them with a little milk to make a smooth paste.
- In a pan, add the milk and bring it to a boil. Add the almond paste and sugar, and stir well.
- Simmer the mixture on low heat for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add the cardamom powder and rose water, and mix well.
- Turn off the heat and let the sharbat cool to room temperature. Then refrigerate it for a few hours.
- Serve the chilled Sharbat-e Baadaam garnished with saffron strands.
