Semiya Payasam
Semiya Payasam is a popular Indian dessert made with vermicelli, milk, and sugar, garnished with dry fruits and nuts.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Raisins - 10
- Cashews - 10
- Cardamom powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Sugar - 1/2 cup
- Milk - 2 cups
- Ghee - 2 tablespoons
- Vermicelli - 1/2 cup
Let's Get Started
- Heat 1 tablespoon of ghee in a pan, add vermicelli and roast until it turns golden brown.
- In a separate pan, boil the milk. Once it starts boiling, add the roasted vermicelli to it and let it cook on medium flame.
- When the vermicelli is cooked, add sugar and mix well until the sugar is fully dissolved.
- Add cardamom powder and mix well.
- In a separate pan, heat 1 tablespoon of ghee and roast the cashews and raisins until they turn golden brown.
- Add the roasted cashews and raisins to the payasam and mix well.
- Serve the Semiya Payasam hot or chilled as per preference.
